In Thailand, we work together with a non-profit group called Emerge. One of Emerge’s other efforts in this region of the world is a 3 month media, leadership, and discipleship school. The school takes in up to 25 students per term and gives them hands-on training and community based leadership and discipleship development. Christmas (and Santa) came early to the Nest this year. With Christmas music and laughter playing throughout the room, students ate desserts to their satisfaction, played games, exchanged gifts and heard the Christmas story. Here are a few shots of the night.

Ribbin & Mook’s Special Day

Two more girls from Kruu Jell’s house church were baptized recently. Mook found Christ when her friend, Ice Cream, began bringing her to the house church. Ribbin was another of Kruu Jell’s students who met Jesus through the house church as well. It was a tearful, but very happy day at the YMCA pool.

Christian Life Teaching, Game Night, and Baking Night at the Nest

At the nest, we try to mix activities that are fun and draw in new people with those that introduce them to Christ and empower Christians to live deeper lives as disciples. Here’s a couple shots of that in action.

Baking night packs out the house. Thais are some of the biggest foodies on the planet, so it's no surprise that they love any event we have involving food.

Game night brings in a smaller crowd, but gives us time to get to know students a little bit better. We play games that develop their English and others that are just fun.

At Christian Life Teaching nights, students from around the campus gather to bond and hear teaching from a mentor.

Last week at the Nest was a blast. From a meaningful worship and prayer night to a packed out brownie baking night, we’ve developed a growing number of relationships with students on campus. Thank you for being a part of this story.

The First Week at the Nest

The Nest opened this week to a steady stream of students. We knew this was going to be a hit, but we had no idea how fast it would happen. From our Halloween Costume Party to Jacki’s Baking Night to the Worship and Prayer Night, the place was buzzing with activity. We have loved the opportunity that the Nest has given us to develop deeper relationships with students at the university.
